Yes, this is the core reason Rewired Group exists. Most Wellington contractors specialise in one discipline and subcontract the others, creating programme risk and communication gaps. We manage demolition, asbestos removal, and earthworks under one contract with one project manager and one point of accountability.
In most cases, yes. The Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 require a demolition survey to be completed before any demolition work begins on a building constructed before 2000, and a management survey before any refurbishment work. These are legal obligations.
Rewired Group can connect you with an independent asbestos testing provider to arrange surveying as part of your demolition project - protecting your consent timeline and preventing the delays that an unplanned survey discovery can cause.
WorkSafe NZ issues two categories of asbestos removal licence. Class B covers the removal of non-friable (bonded) asbestos - materials where the asbestos fibres are held within a solid matrix such as cement sheeting or floor tiles. Class A covers the removal of friable asbestos - loose, damaged, or deteriorated materials where fibres can become airborne.
Class A represents the highest level of asbestos removal authorisation and requires a higher standard of training, equipment, containment, and site management. Most Wellington contractors hold Class B only. Through our partnership with AMR Team, Rewired Group can facilitate both Class A and Class B removal.
We aim to respond to all quote requests within 1 business day. For more complex scopes, we may request a brief site visit, which we will arrange within 2–3 business days of your initial enquiry.
We guide clients through WorkSafe NZ notification requirements for asbestos removal work, and liaise with councils on demolition consent processes. For larger or more complex projects, we work alongside your quantity surveyor or project manager to ensure compliance requirements are met without delaying your programme.
We prioritise salvage and material recovery on every project. We partner with recovery companies to maximise reuse, crush and recycle concrete where practical, and manage trucking to reduce unnecessary waste transport. Hazardous materials - including asbestos - are disposed of through certified facilities in compliance with all relevant regulations.
Yes. Our team works across Wellington City, Porirua, Lower Hutt, Upper Hutt, and the Kāpiti Coast. All of our Wellington staff are local residents - we are not an out-of-region team travelling to Wellington for work.
